loved loved loved this oh my goddddddd incredible, this got me so good, got me right in the feels. val speaking a parent's love, unconditional and limitless and just the way she herself always craved it, into reality for somebody else even though she herself cannot have it!! and the way it loops into the beginning with "It almost feels like a miracle"???? the woman (me) is too stunned to speak. thank you sooooo much for sharing this
Hehe, I am glad the woman (you) enjoyed it! That 'unconditional and limitless' was probably my favourite part to write and I am so happy you got the loop :)
i made an account just to comment on this, it's THAT good. the dialogue exchanges are incisive, sharp, and to the point, yet loaded with wrenching implication, much like VAL herself, and the simplicity of the visuals and the sound design allow them to shine and give the whole work a flayed, stripped-back feel that reflects VAL's lonely, hungry, painful existence as a saint. this felt like it could easily have been a missing scene from the podcast, which is the highest compliment i can give, because speaking from experience VAL's dialogue can be horribly difficult to write accurately to both the character and the themes of the narrative she's a part of. you should be proud of your skill and what you've achieved here.
Thank you so much! Wow. I am honoured you think so. Your posts have been a strong influence on how I approach the story and especially VAL, so hearing this from you is doubly meaningful to me.
